Fabrizio Bilello (b. Marsala, Sicily) is a Berlin-based photographer and visual artist. He graduated with honors in Contemporary Media Practice from the University of Westminster in 2014 and, in 2017, was admitted to the MA in Photographic Arts at KASK, School of Arts Ghent, where he completed his studies in 2019 with the project To Begin Again.
His work can be described as conceptual documentary, influenced by an aesthetic of magic realism and the figure of the flâneur, blurring the boundaries between personal narration and documentary photography. Through this approach, he explores themes such as the relationship between humankind and nature, collective unconscious and memory, spirituality, and religion, as well as social and political issues, including his recent works on Palestinian youth and the German state’s repression of Arab voices.
